12 Days of Easy Christmas Cookies #9 - Red Velvet Chip Cookies, Just 5 Ingredients

Today, red velvet treats are becoming increasingly popular during the holiday season and in their own right for their distinctive color and rich, chewy flavor. These cookies are beautiful on a Christmas cookie tray, but also incredibly easy to mix together. Start with a cake mix, add a few ingredients, mix the lot with a large spoon, and voila – they are ready to put in the oven. Christmas Cookie Baking Tip : Best Way to Add Chips to Cookie Dough
Cookie dough fillers include chocolate chips, vanilla-flavored chips (or any kind of chips, for that matter), dried fruits (such as raisins and dates), and nuts. Typically, fillers are added to a cookie dough recipe after the rest of the dough has been mixed together. At that point, cookie dough is often quite thick. The Elf recommends using a large spatula or metal or wooden spoon to mix in fillers … such as when you add the white chocolate chips to Red Velvet Chip Cookies.
